MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – A traditional Chinese medicine center has been set up in the Minsk Oblast Clinical Hospital, BelTA learned from Lyudmila Rybina, Head of the hospital’s Medical Rehabilitation Department.

The opening ceremony will take place on 16 January. Representatives of the traditional Chinese medicine office of China’s Zhejiang Province will take part in it. The Chinese medics will stay in Belarus on 17-28 January to share their experience with Belarusian specialists and arrange master classes. The project is designed to bolster bilateral cooperation. It will become a good platform for cultural exchange and personnel training.

The center has four procedure rooms and a reflexology room. Reflex therapy is a way to cure diseases and ailments without resorting to medications. Instead biologically active points in the human body are punctured with needles for varying periods of time in order to affect the body’s functions. Two acupuncture specialists and one oriental massage specialist are expected to come to Belarus from China for the sake of teaching the Belarusian specialists. Belarusian medics are expected to go to China for on-the-job training afterwards.
