Tino Eisbrenner to attend Bard Music and Fishing Festival in Belarus

MOGILEV, 29 March (BelTA) – Well-known German musician and pacifist Tino Eisbrenner will take part in the 7th International Bard Music and Fishing Festival in Belarus, BelTA learnt from the organizing committee of the event.

The musician and public figure has accepted the invitation of the organizing committee of the festival to take part in the project, Another Format. Alternative to Pop Music, implemented by the non-for-profit platform Talaka.by. The project envisages an organization of a large-scale gala concert featuring professional musicians and guitarists-songwriters from nine countries.

“Tino Eisbrenner holds a special place in the German society and on the German music stage. He is an avid pacifist, participant of all anti-war campaigns held in Germany. In 2002 he spoke against the war in Iraq. His speech was listened to by almost 1 million people at a gathering in Berlin. He performs German variants of the songs of Neil Young, John Lennon and Sting. In the 1990s he organized the Music Instead of War festival and tours with the project across the globe,” representatives of the organizing committee said.

Tino Eisbrenner will present his project together with German musicians in Belarus for the first time.

Among famous musicians who confirmed their participation in the festival are legendary duet Sergei Nikitin and Tatiana Nikitina (Russia), Israel’s duo Boris Blyakhman and Marina Gershman, musician, writer and producer Jiri Vondrak (Czech Republic), actor, poet and singer Sergei Dzhigurda (Kiev, Ukraine), member of the Union of Writers of Russia, winner of the Grushinsky Festival Pavel Fakhrtdinov and others.

The International Bard Music and Fishing Festival was first held in 2010. Despite being relatively young, the festival has already turned into a bright and offbeat cultural event in Mogilev Oblast, well-known in Belarus and outside its borders. Annually the festival gathers more than 3,000 guests and participants from various countries. The festival is organized by the Your Environment association, the Bykhov District Executive Committee, the main department for ideology, culture and young affairs of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, the Public Council for Agro-Ecotourism Development in Mogilev Oblast.
