Team Belarus unveils Olympic uniforms

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko was shown the ceremony and performance uniforms of the Belarusian sport delegation at the 31st Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), BelTA has learned.

The collections by Belarusian fashion designers Ivan Ayplatov and Yulia Latushkina were considered when choosing the ceremony outfit. Ivan Ayplatov designed his collection together with Bellegprom Concern using traditional embroidery patterns to stress the national affiliation of the team.

According to a survey conducted among athletes and coaches, a preference was given for the second collection of Yulia Latushkina “Sports Belarus. Power of Victories.” Made in red, grey and white colors the uniform also features national motifs, cornflower ornament patterns.

On the instructions of the President of Belarus, all three collections will be on sale in stores.

Team Belarus unveils Olympic uniformsThe sports outfit was made by Audimas Company. Modern materials and technologies were used to take full account of the wishes of the athletes and the climatic conditions of Brazil. Ergonomic shoes for athletes were picked up from the Asics new collection.

Alexander Lukashenko commended the quality of the collections. Belarusian sportsmen confirmed the reliability and convenience of the uniforms.

When talking with Belarusian fashion designers Ivan Ayplatov and Yulia Latushkina, the President noted that each of their collections is beautiful in their own way. “The uniforms should be freely available to everyone. People should have the opportunity to buy them and thereby connect with the spirit of Rio and sport in general,” the Belarusian leader said.

Addressing Chairman of Bellegprom Concern Nikolai Yefimchik, Alexander Lukashenko noted that Bellegprom should cooperate with Belarusian designers to produce goods that will be in demand in the market.
