Tallinn hosts Days of Belarusian Culture celebrating poet Piotr Glebka

MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – The Days of Belarusian Culture under the title “Belarusian Kaleidoscope” timed to the 115th anniversary of Belarusian poet Piotr Glebka were held in Tallinn, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Estonia.

The event was organized by the Center for Ethnic Minorities Radzima with the support of the Belarusian Embassy in Estonia.

The program of the Days of Belarusian Culture included an online poetry recitation contest for children on 5 December. The contest featured 22 participants from Estonia, Belarus, and Jordan.

On 7 December, the organizers arranged the contest for young painters “Piotr Glebka’s poems in paintings”, participants of which were invited to paint their vision of Piotr Glebka’s poems. The contest received 90 works from Estonia, Russia, Belarus, and Italy.

The Days of Belarusian Culture wrapped up on 12 December with a music and poetry party. Estonian school students recited Piotr Glebka’s poems and staged musical and dance performances. The event also included a lecture about the life and work of the Belarusian poet.

Winners of the contests received honorary certificates from the Belarusian Embassy in Estonia and books about Belarusian culture, landmarks, and history. The organizers thanked the cultural and educational association of Belarusians in Jordan for its active participation in the Days of Belarusian Culture.

The embassy stressed that such activities help introduce Belarus’ rich cultural heritage to more people abroad, strengthen the Belarusian-Estonian cultural ties, and bring together Belarusian diasporas from various countries.
