Talay wins 60m Hurdles in Austria

MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – Belarusian runner Alina Talay won the 60m Hurdles at the Gugl Indoor Meeting in Austria’s Linz. Another representative of the Belarusian national team Yana Maksimova triumphed in pentathlon at the Belarusian Indoor All-Around Championship in Gomel, BelTA has learned.

In Linz Alina Talay clocked 7.94 seconds repeating her personal record and setting a new record at the Gugl Indoor Meeting.

Alina Talay continues recapturing her best competition form ahead the European Championships in Prague in March 2015. She celebrated the 60m Hurdles victory in Vienna (8.00), Germany’s Dusseldorf (7.96) and at Moscow’s Russian Winter (8.02).

Yana Maksimova showed the world’s best result of 4,742 points at the Belarusian Indoor All-Around Championship in Gomel. Yana Maksimova received the Alexandra Rudskikh Award from the Belarusian Athletics Federation as the best athlete of the tournament.
