Street in Myanmar capital gets Belarus-linked name to honor Lukashenko’s visit

Street in Myanmar capital gets Belarus-linked name to honor Lukashenko’s visit

NAYPYIDAW, 28 November (BelTA) - In honor of the official visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Myanmar, a street in the city of Naypyidaw has been named Street Minskaya, BelTA has learned.

The street, which has been given a name associated with Belarus, is three and a half kilometers long. It is home to a large shopping mall, bank buildings, and a park.

During the grand opening ceremony, Bellegprom Chairperson Nadezhda Lazarevich told the media that a place reminiscent of the relationship between Belarus and Myanmar may also appear in Minsk. “We will continue our relationship with the city’s administration, supporting it economically and culturally,” she added.

As BelTA previously reported, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is on an official visit to Myanmar on 27-28 November. The Belarusian head of state and the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Administration Council Min Aung Hlaing, will discuss promising areas of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of joint projects. This will include the development of cooperation in agriculture, food security, industry, and pharmaceuticals.

The agenda for the talks also includes a substantial set of issues concerning humanitarian cooperation.
