MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) – Arina Sobolenko of Belarus went off to a good start at the Taipei Open in Taiwan, BelTA has learned.

The world number 79 saw off Misaki Doi of Japan 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 6-3. In the round of last 16 the Belarusian will play either Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland or Lee Ya-hsuan of Taiwan.

Arina Sobolenko will also play in the doubles event together with Russia’s Veronika Kudermetova. The Belarusian-Russian duet will open the tournament against the Japanese tandem of Makoto Ninomiya and Eri Hozumi.
