VITEBSK, 15 July (BelTA) - The flag of the 35th International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk was raised at a ceremony near the Summer Amphitheater, BelTA has learned.
The flag of Slavianski Bazaar, one of the most important symbols of the Vitebsk festival, was hoisted at the Summer Amphitheater cultural and sports complex. It took its place on the flagpole among the flags of the 52 participating countries that will arrive this year for the festival.
Such a ceremony has already become a tradition. It features artistic companies from the Vitebsk Culture Center that put on a vibrant show with dances, drumming, and fireworks.

More than 200 events will be held across the venues of the festival. Tomorrow will see the official opening of Slavianski Bazaar, while yesterday Vitebsk hosted the first concert featuring rock bands. Numerous delegations continue to arrive for the festival and the streets of the regional capital are buzzing like a cheerful hive. Fairs and open‑air performances are drawing visitors of all ages.
Slavianski Bazaar will close on 19 July but a number of final events will still take place in the festival capital on 20 July, including a chanson stars concert.
