MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – Evgeny Tikhontsov of Belarus clinched silver at the 2017 IWF Junior World Championships in Tokyo, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian lifted 171kg in the snatch phase and 207kg in the clean and jerk stage to combine for the total of 378kg for the second place in the -94kg category.

Farkhodbek Sobirov of Uzbekistan took gold with the total of 390kg (180kg + 210kg). Bronze went to Rahman Ourameh of Iran – 364kg (159kg + 205kg).

Earlier, Lyudmila Pankova secured a -53kg bronze for Belarus in Tokyo.
