Sabalenka moves to 2025 Cincinnati Open round of 16

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) — Belarus’ world number one Aryna Sabalenka has reached the 2025 Cincinnati Open round of Last 16 battling through World No.39 Emma Raducanu of the UK, 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), BelTA has learned.

The match lasted for three hours and 11 minutes. The Belarusian will next play  Spain’s world number 42 Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. In the opener Aryna Sabalenka secured a 7-5, 6-1 victory over World No.59 Markéta Vondroušová of the Czech Republic.

In the 2024 Cincinnati Open final Aryna Sabalenka defeated Jessica Pegula to claim the title. Victoria Azarenka of Belarus won the event in 2013 and 2020.

The current edition will be over on 18 August. Its winner will earn $752,200 and 1,000 points.
