Rostov-on-Don to host Youth for the Union State festival on 12-17 September

MINSK, 14 July (BelTA) – The Youth for the Union State festival will take place in Russia’s Rostov-on-Don on 12-17 September, BelTA learned from Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union Alexandra Goncharova.

Belarus will delegate nine singers for the song contest to be held during the festival. These are winners of the Belarusian national selection for the music project. Nine out of over 300 singers made it to the final. They performed during the Youth Day at the Slavianski Bazaar festival and will go to Rostov-on-Don in September, Alexandra Goncharova said.

The song contest is the main draw of the Youth for the Union State festival. The project is designed to spot talented young performers, preserve and promote best vocal traditions.

Taking part in the festival will be young people aged from 16 to 25 years. These are singers, musicians, dancers performing individually and in groups, circus troupes, representatives of public associations from Belarus and Russia. The total number of participants makes up about 300 people. This large-scale artistic forum has been held upon the initiative of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State since 2005.
