Presidents of Belarus, Tajikistan sample presidential chocolate

DUSHANBE, 15 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon visited the national expo of Belarus in Dushanbe on 15 May, BelTA has learned. The two heads of state were made familiar with Belarusian products. The new chocolate lineup President made by the Belarusian confectionery company Kommunarka was one of them.

Kommunarka Director General Ivan Danchenko told media that a mix of cocoa liquors is the exclusive feature of the new chocolate variety. “We’ve used the world’s best cocoa beans from Cote d'Ivoire, Venezuela, Columbia, and El Salvador. They produce a peculiar, soft, and yet slightly bitter taste. This chocolate contains no sugar. Instead we’ve used lactitol, which is made from milk whey,” said the executive. In his words, the Belarusian head of state was intimately involved in the work to create this chocolate and the lineup was expanded upon his instructions.

“As a result, we have a unique product, which is unparalleled in Belarus and other countries. I think it will successfully compete with sugar-free chocolate from Switzerland and Belgium,” said Ivan Danchenko.

The executive also noted that international experts had sampled the new Belarusian chocolate and had spoken highly of it. “Meanwhile, the price of the new product lineup remains virtually on par with the price of the existing presidential chocolate lineup. The company’s economy allows making such exclusive chocolate varieties at a profit,” said Ivan Danchenko.

A mix of cocoa beans from various countries is not the only exclusive feature of the new presidential chocolate. A new sugar substitute makes another difference. The new product uses lactitol while the old one used maltitol and stevia extract. Besides, the new chocolate will come in three varieties with the cocoa content at 72%, 78%, and 85% while the previous product came only in one with the cocoa content at 72%.

The new chocolate lineup President is supposed to be shipped to shops this May.
