Plans to build amusement park in China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone

MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) – There are plans to build an amusement park in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, BelTA learned from Kirill Koroteyev, First Deputy Director General of SZAO Industrial Park Development Company, on 26 January.

The executive said: “This year we would like to reach concrete agreements with one of our main investors in the society and tourism field — Hong Kong Tourism Development Corporation. If it happens, we will start building the infrastructure for constructing an amusement park. It will supposedly be located on the bank of the water reservoir and will occupy about 220ha.”

In his words, an agreement has already been signed with Hong Kong Tourism Development Corporation. A schematic roadmap has been put together. A representative office is supposed to open in Belarus early this year in line with the document. “The representative office will take care of our project and will contribute to the development of tourism in the country as a whole. The representative office will have to determine what specifically can be done in our region to attract tourism and develop services of entertaining nature. In other words, we will have to decide what kind of park it will be — something like a Disneyland or a tropical park or something else,” explained Kirill Koroteyev.

The executive underlined that the amusements are supposed to attract tourists not only from Belarus but other countries as well. “Market analysis is particularly important for this project because we understand that the small population of Belarus will not be sufficient for recouping such a large-scale entertainment project. This is why we need to understand what we can offer to customers to make them come here,” said Kirill Koroteyev.
