MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Belarusian swimmer Grigori Pekarski reached the 2026 European Aquatics Championships final in Paris, BelTA has learned.
In the semifinals of the 50m butterfly, Grigori Pekarski finished third in 22.75 seconds. He broke the Belarusian national record in the event by 0.15 seconds, surpassing the mark set by Yauhen Tsurkin, which had stood for 13 years. Pekarski’s time ranked seventh among the 16 swimmers in the semifinals, with the top eight advancing to the final. On the evening of 11 August, Grigori Pekarski will compete for the first continental championship medal of his career.
