MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – Industrial tourism has become one of the most recognizable brands of Belarus, Director of the National Tourism Agency Dmitry Morozov said at the press conference titled “March is the month of industrial tourism in Belarus”, BelTA has learned.

According to Dmitry Morozov, Belarusian products are known far beyond the country's borders. Not only Belarusians, but also foreigners are curious to see how they are manufactured. Such tours are becoming increasingly popular. Visitors can see how heavy trucks are assembled, how oil, granite, and other resources are extracted.

“Industrial tourism is a great way to promote domestic tourism, train personnel for enterprises. It is also an opportunity to promote Belarus as a multifaceted tourist destination among foreign tourists,” Dmitry Morozov noted.

Enterprises offer various programs for tourists: open days, career guidance excursions, and introduce new services. More than 70 enterprises receive tourist groups on a regular basis.

The National Tourism Agency supports the development of industrial tourism. Information materials are being developed, and in 2021 the Discover Belarus annual tourism competition introduced the nomination Industrial Tourism Facility of the Year. Last year, a marketing study was conducted among companies engaged in industrial tourism in order to assess development prospects and needs of this type of tourism. “The outcomes will be published in the near future,” Dmitry Morozov informed.
