Over 530 companies from 28 countries to partake in Belagro 2018 expo

MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – Over 530 companies from 28 countries will take part in the international agribusiness expo Belagro 2018, which will take place in the trade and logistics center Globus Park in the agrotown of Shchomyslitsa, Minsk District on 5-10 June. The information was released by Alexander Makavchik, Director of the Belagro 2018 expo, Deputy Director General of MinskExpo Company, at a press conference on 1 June, BelTA has learned.

According to the source, the number of participants has increased in comparison with last year. Foreign companies demonstrate strong interest in the expo. In particular, collective expositions of Czechia, India, and Pakistan have been formed already.

Aleksei Bogdanov, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, noted that Belagro 2018 is expected to attract more foreign delegations this year. In particular, a large delegation from Czechia led by the country’s agriculture minister is expected to visit the expo. Governors of Russia’s Vologda Oblast and Sakhalin Oblast, a number of agriculture ministers from regions of Russia are also expected to visit Belagro 2018.

Companies run by the Belarusian Industry Ministry will take part in the expo. The Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry arranges a special exposition every year to demonstrate accomplishments of Belarusian farmers. Belagro 2018 will also feature collective expositions of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom, the Belarusian National Union of Consumer Societies (Belkoopsoyuz), and other organizations and agencies.

Belagro 2018 will offer a business program, which includes seminars, demonstrations, presentations, master classes, and contests.

An expo featuring Belarusian food (Belproduct 2018) will take place during the Belarusian Agribusiness Week. The products on display will occupy some 9,000m2 of exhibition area, noted Alexander Makavchik.

Participants of Belagro 2018 are expected to summarize international experience in the area of agricultural machinery engineering, look for original innovative solutions in the sphere of environmentally friendly materials and zero-waste technologies. The expo will feature machines, equipment, and technologies for agriculture, individual farmers, greenhouse farming enterprises as well as agricultural products, chemical products for agriculture, crop and soil protection agents, animal husbandry technologies, forage and feed supplements, veterinary medications, seeds, plants, equipment for grain processing, and other products.

Belagro 2018 has been organized by MinskExpo Company in association with IFWexpo. The expo will take place with assistance and participation of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Industry Ministry, and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
