Over 40,000 people visit exhibition of Minsk producers in St. Petersburg

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – Over 40,000 people visited an exhibition of Belarusian goods that was held in St. Petersburg during Minsk Days, Chairman of the Economy Committee of Minsk City Hall Vladimir Naumovich said at a meeting in Minsk City Hall on 17 September, BelTA has learned.

Among the most popular products were sweets, macaroni, bakery and confectionary products, cheeses and sausages of Minsk producers. The exhibition was held on 9-16 September near the metro station Prospekt Bolshevikov. Over 40 companies of the Belarusian capital displayed their products during the event.

During Minsk Days the parties signed a roadmap of trade, economic, sci-tech and cultural cooperation through 2020. The administrations of Minsk’s Frunzensky District and Kurortny District of St Petersburg, and also Tsentralny District of St Petersburg and Tsentralny District of Minsk signed cooperation programs as well.

The business cooperation forum gathered about 60 organizations. The Belarusian capital showcased its trade, economic and investment potential at the forum, supplies of Belarusian machinery. The parties discussed new areas of healthcare tourism, joint economic projects. The sides also talked over possible acquisition of Belkommunmash electric buses. Currently St. Petersburg needs 20 e-buses.

Smart Cities section highlighted the implementation of new technological solutions in municipal services, water distribution system, car park space development, innovations in the public transport for the visually impaired

Specialists in healthcare and education held roundtables and visited the relevant agencies. The delegation of the Minsk City Hall laid a wreath at the Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery.

The Minsk Days program also included friendlies in basketball, volleyball, table tennis, competitions in rhythmic gymnastics, concerts, visits to companies, the photo exhibition “Minsk: Revived History” by the Minsk History Museum.
