Nine gold medals for Belarus at European Trampoline Championships in Baku

MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – Belarus claimed nine gold medals (four – senior, five - junior) at the 26th European Championships in Trampoline, Double Mini-Trampoline and Tumbling in Baku, Azerbaijan, BelTA has learned.

On the final day of the competitions Belarus placed firth in synchronized trampoline through Anna Goncharova and Mariya Makharinskaya scoring a total of 49,750 points. Azerbaijan placed second with a total of 47,000 points, while third was Ukraine (44,250 points).

Vladislav Goncharov and Oleg Ryabtsev scored 52,375 points to win the men’s synchronized trampoline event. Second were Russian Sergei Azarin and Mikhail Melnik (51,100). France was third with 50,500 points.

In the men’ individual trampoline event Nikita Ilyinykh scored 59,365 points for silver. Portugal’s Diogo Ganchinho celebrated the win with 60,130 points.

Anna Goncharova claimed silver in the women’s individual trampoline with 54,955 points, going behind Russia’s Yana Pavlova (56,285).

In the men’s junior individual trampoline Ivan Litvinovich of Belarus won gold with the total of 59,195 points. Yekaterina Yershova of Belarus clinched gold (54,505 points) in the women’s junior individual trampoline, while her teammate Aleksandra Stolyarova took silver (52,255). The Belarusian girls won the junior synchronized trampoline with 45,800 points. The men’s junior synchronized trampoline was won by Belarusian Sebastyan Stankevich and Andrei Builov (48,675).

On the first day of the continental forum the Belarusian athletes won three gold and one silver medals. Belarus bagged 13 medals at the competitions in Baku.
