New fundraising school for women to open in Grodno

GRODNO, 7 July (BelTA) – A new fundraising school for women will open in Grodno, BelTA learnt from author of the project, chairwoman of the Grodno Oblast office of the Belarusian Union of Women Irina Stepanenko.

The school will cater, first of all, for active women who seeks the implementation of socially-oriented initiatives and are interested in provided the funding of the projects. School experts will help them find means for turning the ideas into action. “Starting their undertaking, developing a project, many volunteers do not have the knowledge of the basics in financing social projects and know little about fundraising, the process of gathering voluntary contributions of money or other resources for goals and projects of a non-for-profit organization. Our organization has certain experience in working with sponsors, other donors. Our experts will share their knowledge with interested women,” said Irina Stepanenko.

The school will open its doors in August. The first lesson will be dedicated to the background knowledge of fundraising, the development of the information resource – a website of the organization, its elements for attracting sponsors, the use of social networks.

The Grodno Oblast Office of the Belarusian Union of Women unites nearly 28,000 members who implement socially-important projects to support women, family and maternity, patriotic, spiritual and moral education of various categories of the population.
