New extreme sports park to open on Minsk City Day

MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – An extreme sports park will be opened in Minsk on the City Day, Vitalina Rudikova, the first deputy head of the main department for ideology, culture and youth affairs of the Minsk City Hall, told a press conference on 24 August, BelTA has learned.

The complex will be located in Minsk’s Partizansky neighborhood in 1 Stoletova Street. The Minsk international rollers’ marathon will take place in the Partizansky and Pervomaisky neighborhoods to mark the opening of the facility.

Vitalina Rudikova noted that the program of celebrations will include the inauguration of a number of social and cultural facilities. A monument to Vinsent Dunin-Martsinkevich and Stanislav Monyushko will be unveiled in the Upper Town of Minsk. Several new catering facilities will open in various districts of the capital. A number of educational and healthcare establishments will open after a makeover.

Minsk will celebrate its City Day on 3-4 September. This year Minsk celebrates the 949th anniversary since the date it was first mentioned in The Tale of Bygone Years in 1067.
