Nazi death camp victims remembered in Minsk

MINSK, 18 March (BelTA) – A capsule with the soil and ashes of the Trostenets death camp was laid in the crypt of the Memorial Church of All Saints in Minsk. The ceremony was dedicated to the international event in memory of the victims of the Trostenets death camp, BelTA has learned.

The prayers over the capsule were read by Honorary Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus Filaret, Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus, Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, chairman of the Jewish Religious Association in Belarus Grigory Khaytovych, Chairman of the Muslim Religious Association in Belarus Mufti Abu-Bekir Shabanovich, pastor of the Evangelical Church of Germany Manfred Zabel.

The commemorative meeting was organized by the Minsk City Hall, with the participation of the Johannes Rau Minsk International Education Center and the Memorial Church of All Saints.
