KOSTYUKOVICHI, 5 September (BelTA) – Kostyukovichi hosted the National Literary Award ceremony during the 33rd Belarusian Written Language Day, BelTA has learned.
Information Minister Dmitry Zhuk emphasized the importance of the event during the award ceremony: “This holiday helps us, Belarusians, remember where our true place in this world is. Together, we will honor those who, in the opinion of the expert panel, wrote the best books this year. Read them and enjoy the experience.”
Chairman of the Union of Writers of Belarus Aleksandr Karlyukevich described the Belarusian Written Language Day as “a bridge showing the state’s attention to the printed word. “I hope that everyone involved in creating literature, including today’s National Literary Award laureates and everyone watching us who knows about this holiday, understands that writers are responsible for shaping the image of our nation. This image, our traditions, and our continuity are all alive in the present day,” he emphasized.
Olga Rusilko won the Best Work/Collection of Poetry category for her book Kotra. Naum Galperovich won the Best Prose Work category with his book The Red Bridge.






The Best Drama Work award went to Anatoly Zekov for The Courtyard Under Stork Wings. Igor Marzalyuk won the Best Non-Fiction Work category with his book Blood on a White Canvas. Belarusian Collaborators During the Occupation of the BSSR.
Dmitry Radionchik won the Best Literary Criticism and Studies for his Bridges and Shores. Finally, I Understand How It Works... Gennady Avlasenko’s book about a water sprite was named the Best Children's and YA Book.
Polina Korneva claimed the Best Debut award for her work Notes of a Young Female Surgeon. “Our culture has been preserved on paper since ancient times. On behalf of all young creatives, I want to promise that I will carry on this legacy and do everything to ensure that the history of my country is reflected in my works, making it known both in Belarus and beyond its borders,” the young writer said.
