MTZ to hold Parizh-Mosar tractor rally in Vitebsk Oblast 28 January

VITEBSK, 18 January (BelTA) – Belarus’ Vitebsk Oblast is gearing up to host a tractor rally to be held by Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark), BelTA learned from the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee.

The rally will run from the agrotown of Parizh to the village of Mosar through Postavy District and Glubokoye District. The racers will cover a total distance of 12km on an off-road track. The race will wrap up with an awards ceremony and a concert at the St Anna Cathedral in Mosar.

MTZ spokesman Pavel Tukhto said that the starting and finishing points of the rally were chosen not by chance. The names of the Belarusian settlements sound similar to the names of the start and finish locations of the race formally known as the Paris-Dakar Rally. The Belarusian race that will run on 28 January will feature the most powerful MAZ tractors of BELARUS 35-22 model. “A tractor football event will be held as part of the race,” Pavel Tukhto added.

The spectators will be invited to enjoy an online broadcast of the rally at the finishing line.

The Parizh-Mosar tractor rally will be held in the run-up to the Day of Science to be celebrated in Belarus on 29 January. “We want to demonstrate the durability of our tractors, their ability to work in tough weather conditions, and showcase our cutting-edge achievements. We will show our scientific potential,” Pavel Tukhto stressed.
