MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – The motor rally “For a United Belarus” to mark the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident started in Minsk District on 25 April, BelTA has learned.

Participants of the movement Patriots of Belarus are undertaking a two-day rally to Gomel Oblast. Nearly two hundred people from all parts of the country gathered to travel this route and express gratitude to the heroic liquidators.

On the first day, participants will tour the Polesie State Radiation and Ecology Reserve and visit several memorial sites to commemorate the memory of the Chernobyl liquidators (in Bragin) and the victims of the disaster (in Mozyr).

On the second day, they will visit memorial sites related to the Great Patriotic War.

“Patriots of Belarus began with motor rallies: it is our signature format. By traveling across the entire country, we bring people from all regions together,” said Nikolai Zarubitsky, Chairman of the Patriots of Belarus movement.
