MOSCOW, 3 August (BelTA) - Minsk has taken the lead among foreign urban tourism destinations for Russian travelers, BelTA learned from Ostrovok B2B, the online booking service for tourism industry professionals.
“The most popular international city-break destination was Minsk. The number of accommodation bookings made by travel agents in the Belarusian capital from June to August 2026 increased by 14% as against the same period a year prior,” the company noted.
Among the top ten cities that Russians choose for sightseeing and exploring landmarks were also Grodno, Brest, and Vitebsk.
“It comes as no surprise that Belarus topped the ranking of popular destinations: the absence of payment complications, a high level of transport accessibility for tourists from various regions of Russia, and a wide range of entertainment to suit every taste make it one of the most convenient destinations for Russian travelers,” Ostrovok said.
