Minsk to choose Manhattan Short Film Festival winners on 29 September

Manhattan Short Film Festival 2017MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – Minsk residents will make their choice of winners of the 20th Manhattan Short Film Festival on 29 September, BelTA learned from representatives of the Palace of the Republic where the competitive screenings of the annual and the world’s largest short film review - Manhattan Short Film Festival (New York, the USA) will be held.

More than 100,000 film lovers from 250 cities will unite into the world jury to choose the best film from ten finalists of the festival.

At the Manhattan Film Festival there is no professional jury, the choice is made by the viewers. They will be able to choose not only the best film, but also the best performer of the main role. All they need is to vote for the one film and one actor they liked on the voting card. All the recorded votes from all over the world are sent to the NYC headquarters of the Manhattan Festival where the winner is announced during the last screening. The Grand Prix winner will be announced on 9 October.

Before the beginning of the screenings the viewers will be able to enjoy interactive photo zones, a show program featuring pop stars and gifts from the partners.

The Manhattan Short Film Festival is starting on 28 September under "One world. One week. One festival" slogan. The film screenings will be running in more than 250 cities around the world through 8 October. The organizing committee of the event has received 1,615 entries from 75 countries. Only ten films were selected for the competitive screening.
