MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) – Minsk programmer Nikita Kolesnik has developed a prototype glove aimed at restoring hand mobility, BelTA reports citing the STV television channel.

Nikita Kolesnik has a disability himself, which inspired him to create a technology capable of helping thousands of people.

The EMG glove prototype took about a year to develop. The idea came first, followed by the development of the software, and soon the programmer will begin constructing the glove itself.

The device works as follows: a sensor reads electrical signals from the muscles and transmits them to a control board, which runs a program that activates servo drives. These servo drives then produce movement.

According to the young inventor, the smart glove could help individuals with impaired motor function in the hand, for instance following a stroke.
