Minsk Pass cards to be available in five formats starting April

MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) – Minsk Pass cards will be available in five formats starting April. Those are VIP, premium, de luxe, business, and economy, BelTA learned from the state enterprise Mingorspravka.

The company intends to offer 16 different kinds of Minsk Pass cards at various prices, which have been determined taking into account preferences of tourists.

“We hope it will allow travelers and people, who are interested in the history of our country, to get a unique opportunity of planning their travels in the city and the surrounding area at an optimal cost,” said the source.

The Minsk Pass cards will be valid for different periods of time — from 24 hours to 12 months. Some types will offer digital passes for urban transportation while some will not.

BelTA reported earlier that Minsk Pass cards became available in retail on 17 January. The cards became available for preorders at www.minskpass.by in late December 2017. Three types of Minsk Pass cards are now available — 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours. As many as 37 museums are now part of the project, including 14 ones outside Minsk (the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Lifestyle, the museum and ethnography complex Zabrodye, castles in Mir and Nesvizh, and other attractions) as well as 16 hotels, six public catering establishments, and eight retail chains.

The Minsk Pass card is a tourism program focusing on bringing more tourists to Minsk. It offers free entry to 11 museums and the zoo. Discounts of up to 50% are available for another 20 places of interest — museums, sightseeing tours, an aqua park. Discounts of up to 20% are available in hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops, and car rentals.

Minsk Pass cards can be acquired from Mingorspravka outlets, the railway station, in Minsk’s Upper City, the tourism information center Minsk at 13 Revolyutsionnaya Street, and online. Such cards can be activated within 12 months after purchase. The card can be activated by scanning the QR code or by manually entering the card's information during the first visit of a museum or during a sightseeing tour. The card is invalid if the date the card holder started using it is not specified on the other side, which the holder must fill in. The card offers free or discounted tours the tourism promotion program covers in addition to discounts from the program's partners as specified by the guide book and the website.

A 24-hour Minsk Pass card costs Br45. Cards, which are valid for 48 hours, cost Br60. A 72-hour card costs Br78.
