Minsk National Airport named CIS Best Airport of 2017

MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) – Minsk National Airport won the CIS Best Airport of 2017 competition, BelTA learned from the airport’s press service.

On 23 May, the Airport Association of CIS Civil Aviation held its annual reporting back meeting in Moscow to review the performance in 2017 and award the winners of the contest.

“Minsk National Airport won in the CIS Best Airport of 2017 nomination with the total transportation of more than 1 million passengers. The Minsk airport was awarded with an honorary diploma of the association and the CIS Best Airport of 2017 Cup,” the press service said.

The contest is an annual event. Minsk National Airport joined the association in 1997.

The Airport Association of CIS Civil Aviation was founded on 18 December 1990. It is a non-government, non-for-profit organization set up to coordinate the activity of its members, expand their business opportunities, represent and protect their interests.

The CIS Best Airport contest is aimed at encouraging airports to achieve the highest results in their performance and have made a significant contribution to the development of civil aviation. The airports are evaluated in terms of route network flight safety, physical infrastructure, and the quality of passenger service.

Minsk National Airport is Belarus' first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.
