Minsk National Airport among top 10 most punctual airports in Fly Stats rankingMINSK, 15 December (BelTA) – Fly Stats has ranked Minsk National Airport among the top ten most punctual airports in the category “From 1.5 to 5 million passengers a year”, Director General of Minsk National Airport Dmitry Melikyan noted during a working meeting with representatives of airlines and related organizations, BelTA learned from the press service of the airport.

“We will pass the milestone of 4 million passengers by the 2017 year end, which illustrates the rapid development of our enterprise. The number of departures went up from 2016. We made it to the top 10 most popular airports serving from 1.5 to 5 million passengers a year in the Fly Stats ranking. In 2017, Iraqi Airways started regular flights to Minsk Airport from Basra, Baghdad, and Erbil. Yamal Airlines launched non-stop air service from Yekaterinburg on 30 October 2017,” Dmitry Melikyan recalled.

In 2018, the Belarusian air carrier Belavia plans to start regular flights to Rostov-on-Don. S7 Airlines will launch air service from Novosibirsk, UVT Aero will serve the route Nizhnevartovsk-Kazan-Minsk-Kazan-Nizhnevartovsk. Negotiations are underway with Nordavia, Saratov Airlines, Nordica, and Air Mediterranean. Next year, Minsk National Airport plans to increase the passenger and cargo traffic along with the number of departures, while raising the quality of air services and non-aviation services. The second artificial runway will be commissioned in November 2018, the modernization of the existing airport terminal will continue.

Minsk National Airport is Belarus' first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.
