Minsk in top three most popular destinations for Russians during May break

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian capital of Minsk was among the top three most popular destinations for Russians during the May break, BelTA learned from the online travel service Travel.ru.

The list of top ten cities outside Russia included Minsk, Prague, Riga, Vilnius, Baku, Tallinn, Helsinki, Berlin, Tbilisi, and Belgrade. Russian tourists spent in Minsk an average of two and a half days paying less than RUB3,000 for accommodation per day. The longest trips for an average of six days were made to Prague, with the shortest ones to Poland’s Krakow (one day).

The most popular beach holiday destinations during the May break were Cyprus, Greece, and Tunisia.

Saint Petersburg, Moscow and Kazan were the top three domestic tourism destinations.

The ranking was compiled based on the number of hotel reservations made by Russian tourists traveling independently from 1 to 10 May 2016.
