Marc Chagall Art Center in Vitebsk to join Night of MuseumsVITEBSK, 13 May (BelTA) – The Marc Chagall Art Center in Vitebsk will take part in the Night of Museums campaign with a program Parallel Worlds to be organized as part of the culture project Wedding Extravaganza ‘Lovers Over the Town’ dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the wedding of Marc Chagall and Bella Rosenfeld, BelTA learned from the department for ideology, culture, and youth affairs at the Vitebsk City Hall.

The organizers have prepared a romantic music evening to be held on 16 May. Its program features recitals of poems by the Silver Age poets with live music and dances of the time of Marc Chagall and Bella Rosenfeld. The guests will have an opportunity to see the exposition of the Marc Chagall Art Center and take part in a tea party.

A number of events for newly married couples and those wanting to have a symbolic wedding have already been organized as part of the culture project Wedding Extravaganza ‘Lovers Over the Town’. The organizers of the project have prepared many performances to be held on 24 to 26 July to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the wedding of Marc and Bella.

The Vitebsk Oblast Local History Museum will present its program themed around the City Hall as part of the Night of Museums 2015 campaign. This year the symbol of the municipal government celebrates its 240th anniversary.

The visitors to the museum will have an opportunity to see its expositions for free from 6 till 11 p.m. during the Night of Museums. They will take part in a court session of the Middle Ages, look for a treasure, see a performance by a theater of shadows, and take part in many other events. The program will finish with a fire show at the museum patio and the Light a Candle campaign in the square near the City Hall.
