MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – The legend of the world football, Diego Maradona, expressed gratitude for his reception in Belarus, BelTA learned from the celebrity’s Instagram page.

“The food is like the one at home. Thank you, Belarus, for this reception. I do not think I deserve this, but I will try hard to do the best to Dynamo Brest,” Diego Maradona wrote.

The legendary Argentinean footballer came to Brest on 16 July to give his first press conference in Belarus and attend a game of the Belarusian Football Championship in which Dynamo Brest lost to Shakhtyor Soligorsk 1-3.

Diego Maradona is expected to spend some time in Argentina with his family. His next meeting with the Belarusian club will take place in Athens on 2 August. Diego Maradona is set to attend a game of Dynamo Brest against Atromitos FC in the Europa League second round.

As it was reported, Diego Maradona signed a three-year contract to join the Belarusian club Dynamo Brest as their new chairman. He will oversee the strategic development of the club and all its structural units, including the children's academy.
