Lukashenko upholds BRSM’s idea to popularize state symbols more broadly

Lukashenko upholds BRSM’s idea to popularize state symbols more broadly

MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – During the meeting with the Belarusian president, activists of the BRSM Youth Union put forward many ideas, including a proposal to promote the country’s state symbols more actively, BelTA has learned.

For example, participant of the meeting Anastasia Lapko said that during her ascension to the highest peaks of Europe and Africa, Elbrus and Kilimanjaro, her husband and she were proud to plant Belarus’ state flag there. The BRSM representative suggested promoting more actively the country’s symbols. In her view, the Belarusian flag should be in every family. She suggested presenting such a gift to every family during a future population census.

The head of state liked this proposal. “It is a good idea. We will not just consider, but implement it,” he said.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that the tradition to broadly promote national symbols is common in many countries.
