Lukashenko promises to attend Brest millennium events next year

MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko promised to come to Brest for the city’s millennium celebrations next year, BelTA has learned.

The BRSM members from Brest invited the president to attend the Brest city anniversary events. “With great pleasure,” the president said and added that he would come anyway. “Now I have a good reason – an invitation from the youth,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

He stressed that he pays attention to the development of all the regions of the country, including Brest Oblast. It is thanks to the attention of the state that Brest Oblast has been developing in all the areas.

The youth, in turn, spoke about patriotic education and the patriotic center in Brest.

The country's first Youth Patriotic Center was established at the Brest Hero Fortress Complex. It unites local historians, and re-enactors. The center organizes classes in military-applied sports, pre-draft training.
