Lukashenko asks Bolton to pass his gifts to Donald, Melania Trump

MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – At the meeting with John Bolton, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko asked the U.S. president’s national security advisor to pass his gifts to the U.S. president and his spouse, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian head of state chose a dagger for Donald Trump. He recalled that he supported Donald Trump during the U.S. presidential election. “I ‘interfered’ in the U.S. election and supported Trump,” Aleksandr Lukashenko joked.

Melania Trump will receive a tablecloth and napkins from Belarusian linen. “This a woman’s thing. She is no stranger to Slavic linen [Melania Trump was born in Slovenia],” the head of state said.

John Bolton received sugar-free chocolates, including an exclusive chocolate set developed for the 2nd European Games. Another gift is the illustrated book Belarusian Heritage. “This is about Belarus. You will flip through the pages while on a plane and will see what Belarus is about,” the Belarusian leader explained.

“Give the best regards to your president from the people of Belarus. The family origins of his son-in-law [Jared Kushner] are here in Belarus,” the head of state added.
