GRODNO, 10 March (BelTA) – An exhibition of Lithuanian textile art was opened in Grodno on 10 March on the initiative of the Lithuanian Consulate General to mark the 25th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuania's independence and its Independence Day, BelTA learned from Director of the Grodno Exhibition Hall Irina Silvanovich.
The exhibition Reflections of Liberty showcases over 20 textile works, mainly tapestries of different sizes, by seven Lithuanian artists. Most of them feature landscapes and artistic abstractions. The exhibition also includes a series of portraits by the winner of the Lithuanian National Prize and holder of the Gold Badge of the Lithuanian Artists' Association Laima Orzekauskiene. The tapestries presented in Grodno were created between 1993 and 2014.
The exhibition also features embroidered metal objects such as flasks, ladles, and saucepan covers.
The opening ceremony was held on 10 March with the participation of the artists and representatives of the Lithuanian Consulate General in Grodno. The exhibition will be open till 29 March.
