MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – The exhibition of Iranian art “Iran – a precious land” timed to the 42nd anniversary of the 1979 Iranian Revolution went on display in the University of Culture art gallery on 1 February, BelTA has learned.

The exhibition showcases works of Iranian arts and crafts, handmade items, exquisite rugs, calligraphy, items from termeh (handwoven cloth), minakari (a unique Iranian technique of painting and coloring the surfaces of metals and ceramic tiles through enameling), and khatam (an inlaying technique).

Participants of the opening ceremony got familiar with Iran’s rich cultural heritage. Miniature and applied arts are especially popular in Iran. The works of Iranian artisans reflect the country’s national traditions.

The Iranian Revolution gave a strong impetus to the development of art, cultural and public life of the country, the participants of the ceremony noted. The exhibition in Minsk demonstrates that Iran carefully upholds its national traditions.

Taking part in the event were representatives of government agencies, universities, the Iranian Embassy in Belarus, and other foreign embassies, as well as students from Iran.
