International folk dance festival due in Brest on 1-2 June

BREST, 28 May (BelTA) – The international choreography festival Dancing Rainbow will take place in Brest, BelTA learned from Director of the Pogodin Children’s Choreography School Yelena Dron.

Taking part in the festival will be children and youth from Poland, Ukraine, Moldova and Russia. The contestants specialize in folk dances. “The participants will perform on several venues. The festival will kick off on Lenina Square on 1 June. The contestants will present local dances, the culture and traditions of their countries,” Yelena Dron said. After that, the dancers will give a two-hour concert in the Brest Academic Drama Theater. The closing ceremony and the gala concert will take place on Lenina Square on 2 June.

The participants of the festival will be taken on an excursion featuring the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex. They will also be offered a trip to Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park. 

The festival is organized by the Brest City Hall and the Pogodin Children’s Choreography School.
