IHF president promises to help Belarus handball return to World Championship

MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) - International Handball Federation (IHF) President Hassan Moustafa has promised to help bring Belarusian players back to the World Championship, BelTA has learned from the official website of the Belarusian Handball Federation.

During a telephone conversation with Chairman of the Belarusian Handball Federation Vladimir Konoplev, Hassan Moustafa said that the IHF would soon hold a meeting with the International Olympic Committee to discuss the possibility of allowing handball teams from Belarus and Russia to return to official international competitions. The IHF president promised to do everything in his power.

The Belarusian Handball Federation has repeatedly submitted written requests to the IHF president for a wild card entry to the 2027 World Championship.
