Hunting in Belarus grows more popular among Georgians

Hunting in Belarus grows more popular among Georgians

MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) – Georgians grow more and more attracted to hunting tourism in Belarus, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Belarus Valeri Kvaratskhelia.

The ambassador said: “The number of Georgian tourists coming to Belarus is on the rise. Hunting grounds are becoming popular. Many Georgians come back again after properly appreciating how good the things here are.”

Meanwhile, Georgia is a popular destination for Belarusian tourists. In 2018 the number of Belarusian tourists coming to Georgia increased by 42% from 2017. This is why for the first time Belarus became one of the top ten countries, which residents most frequently visit Georgia. “There is no statistics for this year. But knowing the workload of [the Belarusian air carrier] Belavia, I am convinced that tourist traffic will rise. Certainly, Belarusians go to seaside resorts in the first few years. But Georgia has a lot of new resorts, interesting specimens of architecture, places for active leisure, skiing. We have everything. And tastes of the Belarusians, who come to Georgia, gradually change,” the ambassador noted.

On 24 August Minsk will host the fifth festival Tbilisoba. The festival will feature a Georgian marketplace where summer and winter trips to Georgia can be booked. Georgian travel agencies will be present during the festival for the first time ever.
