Heirs of the Great Victory exhibition to open in Mogilev on 6 May

MOGILEV, 5 May (BelTA) – Heirs of the Great Victory, an exhibition of young artists from Russia and Belarus, will open in the Maslenikov Mogilev Oblast Art Museum on 6 May, BelTA learned from the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

“The exhibition is held as part of the international project World Without Borders. For many years this project has united the Bobruisk studio of visual arts Raduga and the Plastov Karsun Children's School of Arts - the leading establishments of additional out-of-school education in culture and art in Mogilev Oblast of Belarus and Russia’s Ulyanovsk Oblast. The author and coordinator of the project is Igor Motin,” the executive committee said.

The exhibition will feature 60 paintings and graphic works made by children and based on the subjects related to family stories and works of war themes. In the creation of some of the works the children used rarities brought from home (awards, photos). Many works were created after conversations with veterans, watching movies, reading books and visiting museums.

The exhibition will run through 22 June. The closing ceremony with include the presentation of diplomas to the young participants.
