MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – The majority of patients who have tested positive for the new coronavirus COVID-19 are showing mild or no symptoms of the infection, Belarus’ Deputy Healthcare Minister Yelena Bogdan said in an interview to the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“The Healthcare Ministry has the complete information about the number of tested people, the number of COVID-19 cases and the health status of every patient. The majority of the coronavirus patients are showing mild or no symptoms of the disease,” Yelena Bogdan said.

The stocks of face masks, protective gear and medications are revised on a daily basis. Earlier the stocks of medications were made to last for three to four months. Today’s stocks are enough for at least six months.

“The situation is fully under control,” the deputy minister said.

She also commented on Bloomberg’s recent reports on alleged 22 deaths from the coronavirus in Belarus. “To date, no one has died from COVID-19 infection in our medical facilities. We have a legitimate question as to what source of information does Bloomberg use?” she said.

In the morning on 26 March the U.S. agency Bloomberg published fake news about deaths from coronavirus in Belarus. A couple of hours later the agency noticed its mistake and, instead of refuting, simply corrected it in the same article.
