MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – Belarusian pentathletes clinched gold and silver medals at the 2018 Modern Pentathlon Junior European Championships in Spain, BelTA has learned.

Belarus’ Ivan Khamtsov scored 1,498 points to win gold in the men’s event. Second was Hungary, with Austria finishing third.

In the team standings the Belarusian team of Evgeny Orel, Nikita Gornostayev and Ivan Khamtsov placed second with the total of 4,350 points. Russia topped the standings with 4,363 points.

The competitions will be over on 23 June.
