Gold for Belarus at 2019 World Rowing Junior Championships

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) – Ivan Brynza of Belarus claimed gold at the 2019 World Rowing Junior Championships in Tokyo, BelTA has learned.

In the Junior Men's Single Sculls the Belarusian took a confident win in the qualifying and semifinal heats. In the final Ivan Brynza clocked 7:15.980 to secure gold. Silver went to Belgium’s Tristan Vandenbussche. Bronze was collected by Tim Roth of Switzerland.

Ivan Brynza earlier won silver medals at the European Junior Rowing Championships, and the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympics.

Germany with five gold, three silver and four bronze medals topped the medal standings of the 2019 World Rowing Junior Championships in Tokyo, which also served as a test event for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic regatta.
