Global Event Congress 2019 kicks off in Minsk

MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – The Global Event Congress (GEC) 2019 has gathered more than 200 delegates from different sectors of the event industry in Minsk on 21-22 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk City Hall.

The event is held in the Belarusian capital for the first time and is expected to attract organizers of festivals, exhibitions, corporate and countryside events, their contractors, travel agencies and the National Tourism Agency. “We hope such communication will be extremely useful for promoting the national idea to increase tourist flows, contribute to further development of the event industry, including with the help of interesting international events,” the organizers said.

The forum is designed to bring together representatives of the event industry and is aimed at sharing experience and knowledge, identifying major development trends. The event will highlight such important initiatives for Belarus as the creation of a professional association and a congress bureau at the national level, international cooperation, participation in tenders and initiation of international industrial congresses, the development of a national IT platform for events, training programs and centers, a common system of standardization and certification of services.

Experts and representatives of Belarusian and Russian agencies will present their best practices in organizing events, corporate events, festivals.

The program will include chocolate tasting, an interactive exhibition and event startups.

The forum is held in cooperation with the National Tourism Agency.
