Georgia suggests launching new air service from Minsk to Kutaisi

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) – Georgia’s Ambassador to Belarus Valeri Kvaratskhelia suggested launching a new flight from Minsk to Kutaisi as he met with Belavia’s Director General Anatoly Gusarov, BelTA learned from the diplomatic mission.

“At the moment the flights between Georgia and Belarus (Minsk-Tbilisi, Minsk-Batumi) are operated at night and in the morning. In this regard, the Ambassador invited the Belarusian party to consider performing part of the flights at daytime and launching a new flight from Minsk to Kutaisi,” the embassy noted. Such steps are believed to facilitate cooperation in tourism and business areas.

For his part, Belavia’s Director General Anatoly Gusarov noted that the airline is interested in expanding cooperation with Georgia and expressed readiness to consider the initiatives. Belavia is interested in bolstering ties with major Georgian tour companies on favorable terms.
