Full house for Belarusian film about Marc Chagall in Cairo

MINSK, 15 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian Embassy in Egypt continues to introduce the documentaries of the National Film Studio Belarusfilm to the foreign public. The third installment of the Belarusian Documentary Film Nights took place in Cairo on 14 December, BelTA learned from the embassy.

The event was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions and foreign organizations accredited in Egypt, and also Belarusian partners from Egypt’s cultural and educational institutions. “The audience watched the documentary ‘Marc Chagall. Unreal reality’. It got a full house, provoked lively discussions, and got good reviews,” the embassy noted.

The audience learned more about the legacy of the big-name Belarusian native Marc Chagall. The demonstration of archive photos and reproductions of paintings sparked the interest of viewers in Belarus and encouraged them to visit Vitebsk, the place where Marc Chagall was born.

Foreign ambassadors accredited in Egypt commended the high professional level of Belarus’ documentary films, an unconventional narrative line, and the organization of the event, in general.

The embassy plans to keep introducing Belarusian documentaries to the Egyptian public and diplomatic corps within the framework of special screenings.
