French embassy in Minsk to hold events timed to Paris Climate Change Conference

MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – The French embassy plans to hold an ecological quiz in Minsk, BelTA learnt from the French diplomatic mission in Belarus.

The quiz will take place on 30 November to mark the opening of the Paris Climate Change Conference. This educational competition in Minsk will be divided into two parts. The first phase will feature a round for school pupils at the French multimedia library. On the same day the quiz will be offered to students. The organizers promise a lot of interesting questions.

The event is organized by the Embassy of France in Belarus, the French multimedia library and the Green Network ecological association.

The international Conference of the Parties COP21, which is to highlight climate change issues, will take place from 30 November to 11 December 2015. This will be the 21st session held within the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21) and the 11th session held within the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP11). The international summit will take place at the Parc des Expositions in Paris. The main goal of the conference is to sign a new global agreement on climate change.

In summer 2015 Marseilles hosted the conference MedCop21 to discuss climate change issues in the Mediterranean region.
