French chef praises Belarusian black caviar

DZERZHINSK DISTRICT, 30 March (BelTA) – Belarusian black caviar has received the highest praise from the legendary French three-star Michelin chef Christian Le Squer, BelTA learned from Vladimir Dovgyallo, Manager of DG Tsentr Company, which aquaculture farm Admiral Husso makes black caviar in Dzerzhinsk District, Minsk Oblast.

The executive attributed the high quality of Belarusian products to the transparent water the fish is kept in, the impeccable observance of all the technologies, including the necessary feed. Vladimir Dovgyallo explained that there is black caviar for the mass market and there is black caviar for the premium segment. The Belarusian enterprise is intent on making black caviar of the latter variety.

There are plans to step up the operation to match the growing demand. Demand doubled in January-March 2018 alone although it was a dead season for this product. “Naturally we feel confidence in tomorrow,” said Vladimir Dovgyallo.

According to the source, the enterprise makes black caviar without preserving agents and with minimal amounts of salt. “We are the only company in the entire post-Soviet space, which has passed the European commission and is certified for export to the European Union,” said the manager.

Vladimir Dovgyallo also remarked that Belarusian black caviar even sells well in the Caspian Sea region where black caviar has traditionally been made for a long time. In particular, Belarusian black caviar sells well in Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan and wins blind tasting contests.
